Marhaba! Ahlan We'
Sahlan! Welcome!
A thousand welcomes to
the mind and conscience of Edmond Robert Mansoor, and to his
Amarna world: THE MANSOOR
AMARNA COLLECTION.
PART I
Before starting, I ask
myself the following
questions:
I. Re: the Mansoor Amarna
Collection/Controversy: Is
Egyptology being misled, blinded, degraded, and/or terrorized
by a few authoritarian
Egyptologists?
II. Will some American
museums lose the support and
respect of their patrons if the Mansoor Amarna
Collection/Controversy is not dealt with in
an honest, serious and scholarly manner?
III. Are the actions and
behavior of the Boston
Museum of Fine Arts (BMFA) as well as the Brooklyn Museum (BM),
in regards to the Mansoor
Amarna Collection/Controversy, to be considered fair and
honest, or unconscionable and
immoral? And did the two named museums rob the Mansoors of
fifty years of happiness from
their life?
IV. Will both museums,
the BMFA and the BM, enter
the new millennium in infamy or in honor?
V. Will the Mansoors
commemorate a shameful,
degrading and infamous milestone in the world of Egyptology and
museology? And if they do,
how?
Frankly speaking, I cannot
answer above questions at
this time, but will be able to, probably in a few months, since
time is running to the
year 2000.
